Since then, Hillkoff has been pioneering and advocating hill tribe coffee beans from Chiang Mai. Carefully selecting the strains of Arabica coffee that are perfect for growing in Northern highland climate has raised the quality standard and given it some of the most complex and unique tasting coffee in the world. Today Hillkoff continues to champion hill tribe coffee as a mean to elevate the livelihood of the hill tribe minorities.
Narumon Thakudom or Pun, the Managing Director of Hillkoff Co., Ltd., personal mission is to pave the way for the exciting future of Thai hill tribe coffee. Riding up to every mountain in the north, talking to villagers and coffee farmers, Pun pays great attention to the people, the quality, and the environmental. Championing the concept of “no burn, grow coffee”, she strives to encourage villagers to reduce forest burning and use natural materials as fertilizers.
